Vunita “Nita” Ann Waldrum, 62, of Wills Point went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 18, 2015 at her home. Memorial services celebrating Nita’s life will be held on October 17, 2015 in the Chapel of North Texas Medical Center of Gainesville.
Nita was born on March 3, 1953 in Denton. She is the daughter of Richard and Barbara Elbert. She was raised and educated in the Lake Dallas area and graduated from Lake Dallas High School in 1971. She attended college and became a “med aide.” She spent many years as a med-aide before going to work for North Texas Medical Center in the housekeeping department. She is a member of United Methodist Church of Lake Dallas. Nita was preceded in death by her grandparents Leonard & Lee Etta Elbert and Woodrow & Myra McMillan, ex-husband & father of her daughter Clifford John Baker and spouse Eddie Eugene Waldrum. She loved to cook, collect post cards, snow globes and bird houses. Her favorite time was spent with family, especially her grandkids.
She is loved and will be missed by her parents Richard and Barbara Elbert of Valley View; daughter April Stanford and husband Bryant of Wills Point; son Heath Birdwell of Ft. Davis; stepsons Jeremy Waldrum of West, Jamie Waldrum of Abilene; grandchildren Zackary Brewer & Jakob Brewer of Wills Point, Chloe Birdwell of Donaphan, Missouri; brother Richard Allan Elbert Jr. of Valley View; sisters Gala Bryant of Talihina, Oklahoma, Sam Mackey of Ponder; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
