Virginia Morton, 78, of Celeste, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Celeste with Rev. Jim Sherwin and Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Merit Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virginia was born in Wolfe City, Texas on February 22, 1937 to W. W. (Bill) and Allene McDonald Woodruff. She was married to Emory Joe Morton on August 15, 1955 in Durant, Oklahoma. She retired from Raytheon as a Parts Control Specialist and was a member of First Baptist Church of Celeste.
Virginia is survived by her son, Kyle Morton and wife, Susan of Winnsboro; daughters, Kim Morton Rhoden and husband, Eugene of Celeste, Lisa Morton Wolfe and husband, Allen of Buna; brothers, Michael Woodruff, Billy Joe Woodruff; sisters, Betty Rosales, Peggy Bryant; grandchildren, Joey, Jessica, Nathan, LeighAnn, Megan, Macy and 21 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joey Rhoden, Nathan Wolfe and nephews, Clint Greer, Joel Gibson, Rickey Morton, Eddy Earl Morton.
