Daniel Starks, on air talent for 107.1 FM The Thunder, reports Texas A&M-Commerce has signed an exclusive, department-wide apparel contract with Under Armour — the first of its kind in Division II.
The deal will begin this fall and last through the 2019-20 athletic year, and will be made formal late Wednesday morning. Financial terms were not immediately known according to an on line source, footballscoop.com.
As part of the contract, Under Armour will be the head-to-toe apparel supplier for all 14 Texas A&M-Commerce teams. The deal came about through A&M-Commerce athletics director Tim McMurray, who previously served as the senior associate AD for external affairs at Maryland, Under Armour’s charter client.
For head coach Colby Carthel’s football program, the Under Armor deal means the Lions will don their third uniform in as many years.
