Approximately 180-runners tripped the starting clock on the 2018 edition of the Firecracker 5K Fun Run on Park Street. The run was rained out for the last two years according to those on the street. The runners ran east on Park to the old trolley turn around then west on Park to Johnson Street.
Citizens on Patrol officer, Karen Gordon, directed the runners north on Johnson. Some grimaced as they looked at the railroad gulch flyover. It was then a fast pace to Washington to the Farmers Market. Uphill on Lee to the Courthouse Square and then south on Stonewall to Park Street and the starting gate. Runners from Houston and Abilene made an appearance.
Hunt County News televised the parade around the world on its YouTube channel.
