Police Impersonator Captured

Several days ago we reported that a man was impersonating an undercover detective after we heard reports of him trying to intimidate victims in hotel, truck stops and box stores from Texarkana, Mt. Pleasant, Greenville and Rockwall.  The Sulphur Springs Police Department has issued the following statement regarding this individual.

The suspect that posed a Police Officer in Sulphur Springs and cities along I-30, has been captured. Warrants were obtained by Sulphur Springs Police Department for Impersonating a Police Officer and Theft, on the suspect who has been identified as James Charles Williams Jr.  Williams was arrested on those warrants in the Little Rock, Arkansas area this date, by U.S. Marshalls and Little Rock PD.

It was a combined effort with all agencies involved, to get Williams identified and arrested. Thanks to all the agencies involved for their hard work and cooperation. Kudos to Det. Spencer, with Greenville PD, for getting the intelligence meeting together and providing the avenue for the constant flow of information.

Lt. Rusty Stillwagoner
