Norman Willis Edgett, Jr. November 2, 1942 – August 24, 2015

Norman Edgett

Norman Willis Edgett Jr., 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 24, 2015. A memorial service, celebrating Norman’s life, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Dixon Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly Carr officiating.
Norman was born on November 2, 1942 in Houston, Texas to the late Norman Willis Edgett Sr. and Doris Edgett Clark. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline Farris Brooks on June 30, 1975. They settled down near Lake Tawakoni and enjoyed gathering with family and friends, fishing and boating. Recently they celebrated their love with a renewal of their vows.  Their enduring love was a testimony to all who knew them.
Norman was a hard worker and spent most of his career climbing telephone poles as a lineman for GTE.  After retirement, he stayed busy with projects around the house and most recently poured himself into caring for his wife.  Norman was a man of strength and integrity who deeply loved his family. He found joy in watching his grandchildren grow, loved to tell jokes and trick us with his magic.  He loved worshipping his Lord and rarely missed an opportunity to attend worship services, watching every weekend online when he couldn’t leave the house.  Norman was a die-hard Cowboys and Rangers fan and has cheered for them every season, every game, no matter their record.  A recent highlight for him getting to tour the Cowboys Stadium.
Norman is loved, and will be missed dearly, by his wife Jacqueline Edgett; Stepmother Barbara Edgett; brother Michael Edgett and sister Susan Ruona; daughters Brooke Edwards and husband Jimmy, Dana Cardenas and husband Steven, and Diana Massey; son Norman Richard Edgett (Rick); grandchildren Logan Edwards, Colton Edwards, Kinley Edwards, Richard Edgett and wife Stephanie, Jacob Edgett, Ryan Edgett, Tabitha Theriot and husband Brian, Micheal Koerth, Tony Peevyhouse and wife Beth, and Jason Mann; great grandchildren Charlie, Bella, Vinny and another one on the way; and numerous other family members and friends.
