Merit, Texas– A formation of Bird Dog airplanes made a missing man formation as they flew over the Merit Cemetery. The event took place during the annual Merit Cemetery Memorial Service and business meeting.  James Weston conducted the invocation and Abby Royster sang the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America to open the service.

Ronald Reagan said on May 26, 1983 “We owe this freedom of choice and action to those men and women in uniform who have served this nation and its interest in time of need.  In particular, we are forever indebted to those who have given their lives that we might be free”.

Chuck Weese of Cash, Texas was the lead pilot of the formation of L-19 airplanes and Ty Helton of Majors Field helped to make the flyover a reality.

Thanks to all of our service men and women!
Especially the ones who gave all so that we can enjoy what we take for granted.
