Lake Tawakoni Regional Chamber of Commerce announces their October Businesses of the Month for October!
Congratulations to Poetry Community Christian School, Senator Dan Flynn, Karrie’s Barber Shop and City of Hawk Cove. We’re proud to be able to pass along information on all these fine business and congratulations from HCN!

Poetry Community Christian School, established in 2002, enrolls more than 250 K-12th students annually. PCCS offers something for everyone: Affordability, Accreditation & College-prep, 18:1 teacher-student ratio, Top 11% national test averages, qualified faculty, district/regional/state athletics performance, Christ-centered, 6-acre campus, Up-to-date facilities and tech, 21 dual college credits, learning differences program, 50+ electives/semester, and parent involvement. Parents are surprised at Poetry’s affordable monthly tuition rates which are less than most daycares ($356-499/month plus multiple child discounts and qualified financial aid). Tuition is affordable because of 2000+ monthly hours completed the school’s Partnership Program which “contractually requires a minimum of five family hours/month for each child enrolled toward operational support such as housekeeping, traffic/recess/lunch monitoring, athletics, and campus maintenance,” said Anne Horan, the school’s president and administrator. PCCS graduates attend a wide variety of public and private institutions (JBU, Texas A&M-College Station/Commerce, DBU, HPU, UT-Dallas/Austin/Tyler, Texas Tech, UNT, Eastfield, TVCC, Fire/Police Academies, Armed Forces, El Centro, SAGU, Le Tourneau, CFNI, Savannah College of Art & Design, TWU, St. Mary’s, University of the Americas Medical School, University of New York/Pennsylvania/Houston, Texas Wesleyan, Belhaven, Santa Fe University of Art & Design, and Vanderbilt Graduate School. The City of Hawk Cove would like to thank the Lake Tawakoni Regional Chamber of Commerce for choosing us as Business of the Month for the month of October 2015. Hawk Cove was established as a city in 1999. Hawk Cove is a small city located between Quinlan and West Tawakoni, just off of FM 751 and Northshore.

Anthony Cuciniello was elected Mayor of Hawk Cove in May of this year; however he has been acting Mayor since November 2014. Mayor Cuciniello not only does his office duties but is willing to jump on the backhoe and work on City streets as well. Kristi Turner was hired on as the City Secretary in January of this year. Ms. Turner is a law student and is working to clean up City Hall. We have an amazing staff at City Hall that also includes Evelyn is our utility clerk, Bobbie is our court clerk, Leetta is our back up court clerk, and Chris our maintenance man. Rhonda McKeehan is the Chief of Police at the Hawk Cove Police Department. Chief McKeehan and her police force are working very hard to eliminate the drugs and clean up the city. Hawk Cove has a staff of five Council Members; David Tacker, James Foley, Michelle Cagle, Roger Vance (interim Mayor as well), and Joe Kelley.

We would like to invite any of our community citizens to attend our monthly Council Meetings. Regular Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at Hawk Cove City Hall.

Thank you again for recognizing our great city!
