The City of Greenville has participated in the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) award program for the last twenty-one years. This year Greenville was honored with a TOPs (Texas Optimization Program) for success during the annual Water Quality Conference.
The City of Greenville has made changes to water sourcing and chemical treatment variances in order to maintain their superior water system rating.
Optimization is an ongoing process involving setting performance targets and goals; monitoring treatment zone performance, and taking corrective action if it is determined that performance objectives are not being met.
The goal of optimization is to lower the risk of waterborne disease by reducing the number of pathogenic organisms that could pass through the treatment plant. The City of Greenville is pleased to receive such an honor and will continue to do everything possible to optimize water quality for today and tomorrow.
