Greenville Mayor is at the Helm

Mayor Dreiling banters with Hunt County’s own Friendlee

at the Business Before Hours at Hunt Regional Healthcare

August 7- Mayor David Dreiling was diagnosed with a brain tumor last May. He turned over duties to the mayor pro tempore, Jerry Ransom, at a sudden called Saturday morning council meeting. He was scheduled for immediate neurosurgery a few days later. Almost ninety days have passed since his surgery and recovery.

The mayor told this correspondent at the Business Before Hours gathering yesterday, “I am pleased that nobody tried to paint their house.” Dreiling continued, “the city ran very well without me at the helm.” Mayor Dreiling wanted us to let people know “he appreciated their concerns. The cards, letters, prayers and other acts of kindness were welcomed during my recovery”. He smiled when one bystander said, “it just goes to show that you cannot keep an old sailor down.”

Great Interview with our Mayor David. I know David very well and have been praying for him. Thank you Hunt County News for this information.

I understand that he may be back into action the middle of next month or sooner. I am an Army vet. but I would not want to be in a fight with David and his Navy there. Heck, I like living the way I am. Thank you again, and a big Thank You to David for his leadership. He is doing what he campaigned to do.

Proud he’s doing okay and back in the fray!
