Gary Glen Young, 55, of Plano, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Montague Cemetery, Montague, Texas under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville. Dr. John T. Tate will officiate.
Gary was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 12, 1960. He was the son of Warren C. Young and Wilma Elizabeth Cowan Young. He was married to his wife, Vicki Stogsdill Young for 32 years. He was the Finance Manage of the Americas, B. T. Americas, Inc. He was raised in the Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Young of Plano; daughter, Joy Lynn Gorden and husband, James of Richardson; son, Roger Wade Pilney of Austin; three granddaughters, who were the apple of his eye, Ivy Whiteley of Austin, Breeanna Pilney of Austin and Caroline Gorden of Richardson; sister, Ann Kruchek and husband, David of Parker, Colorado; brother, James Young of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephews, Chris Young and Shaun Kruchek; nieces, Christie Kruchek Lilletvedt and Nikki Young Prosser. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gary took great pride and joy in sobriety as a friend of Bill W’s for over 17 years. His sobriety was enhanced by immeasurable contributions to countless others seeking to overcome alcoholism. He was employed at B T Americas, Inc. as the finance manager of the Americas. He was admired and respected by all who knew him.
