Bobby Lee and Tina Litchfield of Upland, California had to orbit Majors Field for several minutes due to the runway being closed due to an in-flight emergency earlier this morning. Bobby Lee is looking closely at weather brewing along there route to Kansas City. They are changing their route from a stop in Tulsa to Fayetteville, Arkansas once they refueled at Greenville. The storm that they are looking at on the I-pad is approximately 80 miles in width.
They did experience a treat in that one of the local airport bums took them to Ernie’s Barbecue for lunch. “We do not get barbecue like this in California” Bobby said. They are on their way to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the annual fly in featuring experimental aircraft from vendors from around the world. Tina said “it is really just a Disneyland for pilots”.
