Effie Ann Loftin, 77, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Medical Center of Plano. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Mr. Daw officiating. Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wieland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ann was born on February 2, 1938 in Bonham, Texas to Wesley Ambrose Baker and Lorene Marcella Davidson. She married Franklin D. “Bud” Loftin on May 4, 1957 at Elmwood Church of Christ in Oak Cliff, Texas.
Ann worked and was a longtime employee of Hensons and later worked with Belk’s. She is a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Loftin; brothers, John Wayne Baker, Gary Lee Baker; grandchildren, Lisa and Craig Ranson, Wayne Williamson, Drew Williamson; and great-grandchild, Joseph Franklin Ranson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley Ambrose Baker and wife, Lois Baker, Lorene Marcella Payne and husband, Hershal Eugene Payne; husband, Franklin D. “Bud” Loftin, brothers, Larry Gene Payne, Ambrose Houston Baker, Ray Baker; in-laws, Ralph and Gladys Loftin and niece, Paula Jean Cox.
Pallbearers will include Thomas Gray, David Motes, David Noah, Craig Ranson, John Paul Willabay and Wayne Williamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hodo, Frank Morgan, Gary Pendergrass, Steve Pryce, Wayne Wallace and Mark Wilhelm.
