Keep Texas Beautiful partners with community cleanup programs, including the Great American Cleanup and Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off, assist in removing litter from roadsides, city parks, neighborhoods and waterways.
Keep Greenville Beautiful (KGB), one of four-hundred community partners, will participate in a statewide effort this Saturday. Teams will meet at Westview United Methodist Church located at 6407 Sayle Street near the high school at 8:30 AM. The KGB Foundation will supply vest, bags and other cleanup supplies. Each team will be assigned a certain territory in the city. The clean up begins at nine o’clock and last until 10:45. The endeavor is targeted to pick up trash on public right of ways and city owned vacant lots.
Teams are encouraged to take pictures of the clean-up. Teams will be awarded for the most trash picked up and the most unusual items found. Teams will meet again at the church at Eleven o’clock for a light lunch and fun awards. Contact KGB at 903.441.1399 for more information.
The City of Commerce, Texas will sponsor a similar event this Saturday. Teams will assemble at the Commerce Farmer’s Market at 07:30 AM. The idea is to participate in a citywide cleanup with similar goals of Greenville.
