Citizens on Patrol

Registration for the 10th Anniversary of the Texas Citizens on Patrol Conference took place today at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center. The Greenville Police Honor Guard presented the colors before the National Anthem being sung by Trey Houston. Welcoming remarks were made by the Jerry Ransom, Mayor Pro tem; Al Smith, Acting Police Chief; Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks and Byron Taylor, President of the Greenville/Hunt County Chamber of Commerce.

Friday and Saturday will be busy with training sessions dealing with active shooters, narcotics and paraphernalia training.

A special meeting was conducted by Bruce Cambell from Steubing Ranch Citizens on Patrol in Central Texas. Steubing Ranch is a community of 1,000 plus homes, two schools, and businesses near San Antonio. A golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday as well as a tour of the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum. Captain David Rogers, Hunt County Sheriff’s Posse will make a presentation Saturday afternoon.
