CASA – A child’s voice

Lori Cope from CASA for Hunt County spoke at the Greenville noon Kiwanis club giving insight into what CASA for Hunt County is about.

Court Apointed Special Advocates, or CASA provide services to children who are placed into foster homes. With the heavy case loads of CPS and the Attorneys for the children, CASA appoints advocate volunteers who become the eyes and ears for the judges overseeing the child’s (children’s) case.

Children going through the court process are often left feeling alone or isolated and look to their advocate for compassion, dignity and respect while they fight for the child’s right to be safe and to grow in the security of a loving family.

CASA has a fall fundraiser scheduled for September 24, 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church and they are always looking for donations and / or volunteers.
