Buena Davis

Buena H. Davis, 96, of Greenville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 10, 2015 in Greenville. Funeral services celebrating Buena’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Bobby Sparks officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville. Visitation will be held from 8:00 A.M. to service time.
Pallbearers will be Gary Whitehead, Scott Davis, Paul Owens, Randy Hoff, Jonathan Riebe, and Tommy Underwood.
Mrs. Davis was born on February 5, 1919 in Quinlan. She is the daughter of the late James Robert Hulse and Rosa Woodall Hulse. She was raised and educated in Hunt County. Buena married J.P. Davis on September 15, 1940 in Hunt County. She was also preceded in death by her husband J.P., daughter Carolyn Davis Sikorski, brother James Robert “Bud” Hulse, sisters Werdna Harper, Hallie Hulse Ernest Thrasher and Eva Hulse Easterwood. She was a member of Emanual Baptist Church in Greenville. She belonged to Woodmen of the World and the Baptist Ladies Auxiliary. She was a talented seamstress and made clothes for all the family. She loved to work jigsaw puzzles and was an avid fan of the Milwakee Braves and would listen to all their games on a radio until 1954 when she got her first television set. She also cheered for the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys.
She is loved and survived by son Rondell Davis and wife Carol of Oxnard, California; daughters Ovela Anderson and husband Will of Quinlan, Charman Davis of Greenville; grandchildren Janice Hoff of Garland, Joy Foster of Llano, Scott Davis of Oxnard, California, Michelle Riebe of Oxnard, California, Lori Tucker of Oxnard, California, Amberly Davis of Greenville; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sisters Mildred Allen of Quinlan and Minnie Bowen of Greenville.
