Master story teller, Pud Kearns, delighted the audience gathered in the lobby of the Texan Theater yesterday with a short history of Bras for the Cause. Tonight’s fest will be the seventh annual event in uptown Greenville. The first few events emphasized breast cancer but it has grown much more to include all cancers.
The initial event in 2008 raised a little over $3,000 for use in Hunt County cancer aid and research. A short two years later the event raised over $109,000 in 2014. Tonight the seventh annual event should raise over five dollars for every man, woman and child in Hunt County!
Bras for the Cause has started Janice’s Closet, a source for special garments, compression devices and prosthesis for surgery patients. Some of Bras for the Cause funding helped to purchase the mobile mammography coach.
Pud related that mystery counters were in place to count up to 40-50 thousand on line and in person votes. The festivity begins at six PM tonight at Landon’s Winery, the Uptown Forum and the Texan Theater lobby. Come out and support a charity cause where every penny goes to Hunt County!
