A Towering Project

Three communities south and west of Caddo Mills got to together to form their own water supply company in 1963.  The founders applied for a low interest Department of Agriculture loan, drilled the first well, built water mains and started to serve the communities in 1964. The communities are the hamlets of Burrow, Hendrix and Paradise located south and west of Caddo Mills.  Today the water company is known as BHP.

The company is constructing a new tower at the intersection of FM 36 and Interstate 30 East.  The center pole is up and tower’s legs are being built.  Sections of the tower are stored on a fenced lot.  The new tower will hold up to 200,000 gallons and will be 212 feet in height.  The total cost is a little under one million dollars.

Hunt County is forecasting continued growth between Royse City and Caddo Mills.
